GIA Diamond Grading and Reports – How to Obtain a Report

How to Get a GIA Diamond Grading Report

GIA Diamond Grading Report

The most convenient way to obtain a GIA Diamond Grading Report or a Diamond Dossier® is through a local fine jewelry retailer. Retail jewelers are uniquely qualified to obtain a GIA report and to explain its contents.

While the diamond is being evaluated, it can also be laser inscribed with a GIA Report Number and/or a personal message, symbol or special date for an additional fee. The diamond's report number and all the data captured during the grading process are permanently stored in GIA's Report Check.

If you submit a diamond for grading, be aware that settings prevent thorough examination. For that reason, GIA only grades unmounted diamonds. Fees are determined by the diamond's weight. GIA recommends submitting your jewelry to a jeweler familiar with the diamond submission process to GIA. For more information or assistance contact a client services representative at a GIA laboratory near you.
